Skool of Salem TEAM REVEAL

"This damned plague will destroy this city."

The reported last words of the recently deceased Salem police chief Edward Bishop.

Indeed a sickness had circulated across the coastal city of Salem. Not the usual seasonal flu, but rather something that spread deeper into the consciousness of the population: a crisis of morals. It infiltrated every aspect of the city, from the lowest of classes that lived under the decaying bridges all the way up to the highest levels of administration. Corruption was a living with better health benefits than honesty.

Our story begins two years after the death of Edward Bishop. The new police chief, Samuel Lawson, was faced with quite the predicament. His predecessor was murdered under suspicious conditions and he was expected to carry on as if nothing had changed. The idea of simply "carrying on", however, was absolutely preposterous to him. Perhaps that was when he first began designing a team that would forever change the town of Salem.

The Squad to Knock Out Off-Record Lawlessness. Otherwise known as the S.K.O.O.L. of Salem.

Even the name made the highest level goon paranoid. In a town where the law followed no laws to stop those who followed no laws, Lawson felt it was necessary to bring together some of the best police officers from around the nation to face the rising threat of organized crime. They were willing to fight for the highest bidder like modern day mercenaries.

Grand rewards were awaiting those who were willing to die for the cause of ridding Salem of crime, but they would have to survive first. The members of this squad would forever be remembered for their part in the war.

----

1) Bumble [Bumble Hough] - The winner of CPSkool Forever now gets to find out what happened after forever. Bumble is a strong competitor who is back for vengeance after her early elimination from Xerxes Apprentice. Bumble is a tough adversary, but in this gameshow, will she sting or stumble?

2) Lewis [Lewb Ricunt] - A dark horse in a pack of wolves, Lewis is known for his expertise in gaming, which allowed him to seize third place in CPSkool Forever and fourth place in Xerxes Apprentice. Now that Lewis is fresh off the boat in Salem, is he destined for the aquarium or the sushi kitchen?

3) Andre [PΓΌck] - Andre isn't a stranger to the gameshow scene, but he has never met the title of first place. However, his determination and organizational skills have earned him second place and fifth place in the past. Andre is facing some veteran competitors, but he isn't afraid of an oldie. Will Andre invent victory for himself, or has he always hated it?

4) Sand [Koksa Ker] - An artist in her free time, Sand is well-versed in how things will run in Salem. She was a runner-up in the original CPSkool season, but she was cut off before her time as the first to go in CP College. Can Sand plant her spot in the Hall of Fame, or will it be blazed in flames?

5) Swimy [Jacob S. Wimi] - What is there to say about Swimy that hasn't already been said? Shifted across the nation for his unconventional tactics, Swimy last experienced defeat as the third person voted off CPSkool Kamp. Now that he is faced with the largest threat of his life, will he sink to the bottom 2, or swim to the shore of victory?

----

Ever since the death of Edward Bishop, organized crime has had to go through some "renovations". The new kids on the block, S.K.O.O.L., have disturbed the hard-working criminals of the underground. Arrests have gone through the roof, causing a chain reaction of snitches ratting out snitches. As a result, crime rates have gone down and with it, the income of the Mafia bosses.

You don't want to upset a Mafia boss.

From the ashes, a phoenix has risen with a group of retired mob bosses coming back into the scene to take on this so-called "Squad of Salem". These veterans are not afraid to confront the team that has taken out their fellow comrades in the past two years, even if it means they will be caught in the crossfire.

----

1) Penny [Penny] - Gameshows have not treated this talented competitor with the respect she deserves, but Salem might be her time to shine. Penny has been seventh place, second place, fourteenth place, and third place twice, yet she has never won the crown of victor. Will her penny land on tails this time, or is she out of luck?

2) Shannon [Shanerys Traineryen] - A master saboteur, Shannon is not new to the ideals of Salem. Her skill in winning challenges has brought her victory in the past. She has won two gameshows and isn't afraid to complete the trilogy. Can she utilize the power of her two Internets to win, or will she lose connection?

3) Andy [Matthias Talifield] - Infamous for creating his own gameshow, Andy has shown his expertise in competing by being fifth place in CPSkool Forever and eighth in CPN Season 2.  His enthusiasm for competing and organizing has given him an advantage over his adversaries. Three years ago, Xerxes found his apprentice, but will he now become an apprentice himself?

4) Zach [Dr. Bees] - Zach dominated CP College with an admirable win streak for the Red Team, and now he's back to help out a new Red Team. However, he could not ultimately take the victory from his own sister. He has said he isn't tired before, but can Zach withstand the long hours ahead of him in Salem?

5) Damon [Damon] - On record for going rogue from the police force in the past, Damon has been recruited by the Mafia for his past experiences competing. Fifth place in CP High and third place in CP College has made him long for victory. He's been off the radar for awhile, but will this dark horse take the prize?

Thanks everyone for signing up! We're sorry we did not have room for you, Marco, but we hope that you will still follow along with the story. Also, thanks to my co-host Cam for writing one-liners, especially the ones about Andre and Andy. They're hilarious!

Let us know what you think of the teams in the comments, and stay tuned for the challenge post on Monday.

Welcome...to SKOOL OF SALEM!

READ THE "ABOUT" PAGE FOR IN-DEPTH INFORMATION.

On May 28, 2012, sign-ups for Xerxes Apprentice were opened to the public. No one could have predicted the oncoming storm of division and tension unleashed upon the CPSkool community, yet it has continued to define us as a group.

I believe it is safe to declare at this point that we have rebounded from those dark times. After years of hostility, controversy, and disharmony, we have fought our demons and worked through our disputes to rebuild what we had before, and improve upon it even further. Friendships have been rekindled and reestablished, while others were created for the first time. Perhaps this is a sign, three years after the last gameshow began, to prove the unifying nature of CPSkool by beginning a new one.

Skool of Salem aims to question the "good ol' days", back when CPSkool Forever was held as the pinnacle of gameshows. Please check the "ABOUT" page for in-depth information about the new changes in Skool of Salem.

Now then, let's get to the sign-ups prompt. Please answer these questions in a comment below in order for us to properly consider you for the season:

1. What name would you like to be known as? (Can be your real name or a fake name!)
2. What gameshow experience do you have?
3. Why would you like to participate in Skool of Salem?
4. How busy will you be over the summer?
5. What time would work for you in PST for challenges? (We're considering 3 PST)

The sign-up period will close on May 30, 2015, one week from now.
Teams will be announced May 30th and the season will begin June 1st.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and possibly sign up. Cam and I are looking forward to an amazing season!
